The principles of a heat exchanger, here of the counter-current type, are shown below:

ΔTM = logarithmic mean temperature difference [K]
Q = flow of heat [W]
A = cross-sectional area [m2]
W = heat capacity flow [W/K]
A = heating area [m2·K]
ΔT = temperature difference [K]
